Consumer genetic testing services now offer nutrigenomic panels identifying variants related to caffeine sensitivity, lactose tolerance, vitamin D requirements, and carbohydrate sensitivity.

Limitations

Genetics is not destiny. Epigenetic modifications, microbiome composition, sleep, stress, and exercise all modulate gene expression. A predisposition indicates probability, not certainty.

The Future

Integrating genetic data with metabolomic profiles, microbiome analysis, and real-time glucose monitoring will enable dietary recommendations tailored to individual biology.
